Choosing invitations is one of the first items on a brides to-do list after setting the wedding date. It’s important to think about what type of stationery you will need and to make sure that your invites and wedding stationery have a corresponding theme. Here’s a list of some of the most common items you may want to think about including  along with your invites:

{Save the Date Cards} Sent prior to your invitations so that your guests can hold the date for your wedding – great for destination weddings!

{Programs} Outlines the wedding ceremony and includes the names of the wedding party.

{Menus} Food options for the wedding reception including dessert and the wedding cake.

{Seating Cards} Makes it easy for your guests to find their seats at the reception.

{Table Cards} Helps your guests find their table. You can be creative with how you name your tables.

{Thank You Cards} It’s important to thank your guests after the wedding for attending as well as for the gifts they have given.

{At Home Cards} At home cards have become more and more popular and are sent out after the wedding with your new address, contact information and the date that you will be “At Home” after the honeymoon.

It’s best to let your stationer know all the items you will need up front. This will ensure that you get everything in time for the event and it will also save you money. It generally costs less when you purchase your invitations and wedding stationery all at once versus ordering it piecemeal.
