I first fell in love with Ralph Rucci three years ago at Bryant Park. I was excited to see his couture designs again this season. Here are some of my favorite looks from the collection:

Vera Wangs S/S12 collection was airy, light and fairytale like. I was struck by the bold, cobalt blue hues and stark, sunshine yellow shades.

Layers, layers, layers! That is the best way to describe the Nicholas K. show. I have come to love the collections of the brother/sister design team behind this collection, after seeing the show for the first time a year ago. This men’s and women’s collection can best be described as wearable, airy, and comfortable. The inspiration seemed to be a cross between military elements and chic, desert nomad.
The colors ranged from pure, angelic white to charcoal black, with the spectrum in between ranging from light gray, army-green, nudes and desert-tan, steel-gray and blue-gray. As far as accessories go, many of the models donned sheer/metallic scarves in white, silver and gold either wrapped around their head or around the neck. There were a set of models wearing tan open-toe ankle boots that were beyond hot.
Overall, I really loved the collection the designs on both the men and women. They looked so comfortable and effortless, yet were very chic. There were a lot of sheer and see through fabrics in this collection. With the exception of some of the jackets, all of the textiles were airy and definitely gave off the vibe of Spring and Summer. The show closed with a long, sheer, blue maxi dress.

This morning I went to see the Mackage (pronounced Mau-cauge) S/S12 Collection presentation at the Hudson Hotel in New York. Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan are the designers behind the brand. Over the past decade, Mackage has been best known for its fashionable outerwear. In 2010 the duo launched a women’s ready-to-wear line. This collection was inspired by the soft, serene shades of dusk, when daylight recedes and cool light infuses the city with tranquility. Etheral lightness is underscored by structured masculinity with a 50′s undertone. The colors of this collection can best be described as black, white, ivory and nude hues. The designs ranged from tuxedo style pants, skirt and blouse separates, shorts and sophisticated dresses. Many of the models we’re adorned with floral embellishments. The adornments could be seen on the model’s stilettos, as a necklace, headband and armband.

You may have noticed that over the last few months we have been a little quite over here in the House of Papier. That’s because we’ve been hard at work creating a new collection of chic invitations. We are also designing an entire line of new stationery products for all your wedding and event needs. Here is a sneak peek into House of Papier’s new Invitation ClutchTM Collection.

Stay tuned because there is much more where this came from!

No doubt, Prince William and Princess Kate are House of Papier’s latest Über-Fabulous couple! This morning everyones eyes were fixated on London and the Royal Wedding. The crowds who were gathered on the streets leading up to Westminster Abbey and those of us watching from around the world were mesmerized by the regal opulence of it all. Prince William and Kate Middleton are now joined in holy matrimony and England once again has a princess — and dare I say, so do the rest of us.
Despite the edginess of McQueen designs it seemed so appropriate that Kate chose an Alexander McQueen wedding gown, designed by Sarah Burton. An ode in memory to an amazing British fashion designer and a couture ”McQueen” fit for a princess who will one day become Queen. Today we were all reminded of fairy tales and probably could not help but think that maybe, just maybe, dreams do come true.

It seems like just yesterday we rung in the new year. Now here we are four months later — the beginning of springtime. A time of rebirth and New Life! I’ve been working hard in the House of Papier designing our new stationery and invitation collection. Finally the sun is starting to break through the cold grips of winter and its so motivating to hear birds chirping and flowers trying their best to bloom. The awesome thing about nature, is that it does what it’s supposed to do - bloom, grow and flourish! As I reviewed my goals from the first quarter and prioritized my second quarter goals, I was reminded of the things that Fire Me Up to keep me pressing forward. My MTH2011 friends will appreciate this, but I encourage all of you to reach for your goals and don’t give up in accomplishing them!

The G-Star RAW collection can best be described as military inspired with warm layering. This show was definitely the show to be at. The Theatre was filled to capacity and as I walked in there had to be at least another 100 people waiting outside to get in. I doubt they made it, as standing was overflowing. I loved the looks and it’s always a delight to see men’s and women’s fashion on the same Catwalk.
