Spring 2010 Collection
Nicole Miller was the first show I attended Friday evening. It took place in the Salon at Bryant park. Her downtown-chic designs and sexy cocktail dresses will be a must have come Spring.
Twice a year the fashion elite gather in the heart of New York City for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to view the latest fashion collections for the upcoming season. September 10th kicked off the start of Fashion Week Spring 2010 and House of Papier was right in the mix. With two days left to go until it’s all over, I finally have time to catch up on my blog posts to bring you the inside scoop from the Tents.
So what in the world does fashion have to do with House of Papier and invitations? I’m glad you asked! Simply put, fashion inspires me (See my post from February). The colors, material, embellishments, trimmings all give me ideas for custom invitation designs. A clothing designer creates their clothes in a Fashion House and Missy creates invitations in the House of Papier.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kick’s off today with the first show starting at 9:00 am showcasing the Michael Angel collection. I’m looking forward to hanging out in the tents and viewing the newest fashions for Spring 2010. Yesterday I stopped by Bryant Park to pick up my credentials and they were putting the last finishing touches on the tents. Ahhhhh, the smell of fashion is in the air.
When in Rome…do as the Romans – or in this case, send House of Papier wedding announcements. I’d like to share the finshed product from our lastest Über-Fabulous couple Terry & Dara Overstreet who recently wed in Rome, Italy:
Having an outdoor event and want to help your guests stay cool? The House of Papier can transform your order of events into a fabulous fan. These cute creations double as a program and spread out into a fan to keep your guests from breaking a sweat.
There are so many things to think about when planning for an event, that sometimes the small details are overlooked. But it’s the details that often set a mundane celebration apart from one that is the talk of the town. Many of our clients are so consumed with the design of their invitations that they don’t even think about what they will mail their couture invites in. Well, the House of Papier has got you and your invitations covered – literally. All of our silk box and silk folio designs come with custom fitted white glossy mailers. The package your guests receive will be just as pretty on the outside as it is in the inside.

The Semple Mansion 100 West Franklin Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55404
The House of Papier’s next Über-Fabulous list maker is the Semple Mansion, the premier event venue in Minneapolis, MN. My Uncle’s wedding took place here just this past weekend and let me tell you, this place is gorgeous! The award-winning Mansion was named Best Large and Small Reception Venue two years in a row by Minnesota Bride Magazine, 2007 & 2008 respectively. Once inside, the Semple Mansion boasts a Grand Foyer, Grand Palladian Ball Room, a Bridal Suite, Wine Vault Grotto, Billards Room, a beautiful Mahogany staircase, in addition to other rooms throughout the venue. To learn more about how to book this location for an event visit www.semplemansion.com.
This weekend I attended my Uncle’s wedding in Minneapolis, MN at the Semple Mansion. While I was there I meet professional floral designer, Eric Sandstrom who created the beautiful floral centerpieces for the reception tables. Sandstrom is the owner of Floral Logic and has created award winning designs. His arrangements are sure to be a show stopper for any event. Visit www.florallogic.com to view Sandstorm’s portfolio and learn how you can book him for your event.
I’d like to share another invitation design I worked on this past week. This set includes a 6x6x1 black silk box adorned with mint green ribbon and a crystal buckle. The response card is a two-layered card with a matching envelope. All sets come with a mailer.
